Allan Rau

Allan Rau was born in Swan River, Manitoba. His background is in firefighting and engineering, including 30 years in the Canadian Armed Forces where he and his family lived in many locations within Canada and Europe.  During his career he held positions as firefighter, Fire Chief, Fire Marshal, NATO Crash Fire Rescue Chairman and Engineering Officer.  In 2010, after retirement Allan and his wife Louisette moved to Lorette to begin a new chapter in their lives.

Firefighting has always been Allan’s passion, in retirement he sought for ways to become more involved within the community, the perfect choice was to join the Taché Fire Department which he did in 2015 and in 2016 he was appointed Fire Chief.  He also keeps himself busy by being a Board member for Lorette Thrifty Treasures, Board member for the Manitoba Association of Fire Chiefs and Eastman Mutual Aid District Coordinator. Looking for even more ways to be involved within the community Allan was elected as a LUD Lorette Committee Member in 2022 and is looking forward to the challenge in serving his community as a LUD Lorette Committee member.
Allan is the proud father of two daughters who along with their husbands and their wonderful children also live in Lorette.
